Do you accept Section 8, MRVP or AHVP vouchers?
The Granby Housing Authority does not accept vouchers for Section 8, MRVP, or AHVP programs at this time.
What do I need to do to be put on the wait list?
An application must be completed on the CHAMP (Community Housing Application Management Program) website. If you do not have access to the internet, you may stop by our office and pick one up. Once the application is completed, you will be added to our wait list.
To start the process, fill out an application online by clicking the link below and submit it.
Granby Housing Authority sends out pre-screening packets. If you receive a pre-screening letter, please send all documents that are asked for If you receive a packet from us it should be returned to us within ten (10) business days. Once we have a vacant apartment, we will pull a wait list for that specific apartment and send out the vacancy packets to typically the top 30 names on the current wait list. This letter will state your name has been pulled on a wait list. These packets MUST be COMPLETED with all the REQUIRED documentation and returned with in the (ten) 10 business days.
How long is your wait list?
The elderly / non-elderly handicapped list is estimated to be 1 year or longer. The family waiting list is currently estimated to be 7+ years.
What are your hours of Operation?
Monday and Wednesday 9:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M.
Tuesday and Thursday, 9:00 A.M.. - Noon
Friday, By Appointment Only
How is my rent calculated?
For Chapter 667 elderly / non elderly handicapped housing 30% of the adjusted gross income, (Gross income after any applicable deductions) and for 705 family housing; 27% of the adjusted gross income.
I own a house but will be selling it soon. Can I still apply for housing?

At what age do I qualify for an elderly housing application?
60 Years Old
I am not 60 years old but I am on disability. Do I still qualify?
Yes
Do you have handicap accessible units?
Yes. Phins Hill Manor has 4 handicapped accessible units and Hillside Heights has 1 two (2) bedroom handicapped accessible unit.
How long can someone (family/friends) stay in my apartment with me?
No more than 21 days in any twelve month period.
How many bedrooms in each apartment?
Elderly/Non-elderly Handicapped: 1 Bedroom.
Family townhouses are six 2-bedroom (4 people max) & six 3-bedroom (6 people max) units.
Are utilities included?
Utilities (electric, heat/AC, and hot water) are included in the rent for the elderly/non-elderly handicapped program.
In the family housing program the tenants are responsible for all their utilities.
I am not elderly, can I still apply?
Yes, anyone can apply. Eligibility is determined based upon the programs offered.
Can I have a pet?
One pet only and it must be under 40 pounds. A $160 pet deposit is due at lease signing.
Do you have any vacant apartments?
Apartments are filled from our wait list in the CHAMP program. If you have not filled out an application, you are not on our waitlist.
How long is the waiting list?
Elderly Granby Residents: 6-12 months. The wait will be longer if an applicant can only accept a first floor apartment.
Non-Elderly/handicapped: 12 months + Family: 10-15 years
